Edith Bingham’s interest in art began in her childhood, with strong encouragement from family and school. She grew up in Philadelphia, and attended high school that had an exceptionally strong art department and art history classes. Edith went on to the Boston Museum School where she studied figure drawing, anatomy, and painting. In 1972, Edith settled in New Hampshire and her art took a back seat to raising children and farming. When she returned back to art, she worked as an illustrator and sign painter, and was commissioned to create several murals. Her work as an illustrator included jigsaw puzzles, educational illustration, cards, books, and other products using various media such as watercolor, ink, pencil, gouache, and paper cutting.
