As a young boy growing up on a farm in North Iowa, David Rottinghaus would explore the creeks and hollows, enjoying the natural beauty around him. In school, David dreamed of farming and hunting as he was sketching portraits of his classmates. With encouragement from his family, David went to Minnesota Technical College and received a Commercial Art Degree. In 1994, he founded Royalhaus Publishing, a private corporation that allows him to publish his own art. Six months later, US Art Magazine picked David as one of the nation’s top “Artist To Watch”. He also placed in the finals for the Federal Duck Stamp Competition and the Minnesota Duck, Pheasant and Trout design contest.
