Best known as a writer and illustrator of children’s books, Colin Thompson was born in Ealing, London on October 8th, 1942. He went to boarding school in Yorkshire, grammar school in West London and spent two years at art school in Ealing and Hammersmith. He has worked as a silk-screen printer, a graphic designer, a stage manager in the theater and ceramics. He studied filmmaking for a year and started making documentaries at BBC. in 1990, Colin started writing and illustrating children’s books and had his first book published in March 1991. He has had over 65 books published. Colin is left handed and is color blind.
