Bob Knox was born in New York City and raised in Connecticut. He studied art at L'École des Beaux-Arts in France and at Wesleyan University. A prolific painter, Bob has created daily for most of his adult life, building visual stories through rich layers of color, irony, and metaphor. His paintings often place everyday objects in unexpected settings, inviting viewers to look twice. During his graphic years, Bob became known for his socially relevant and conceptually clever New Yorker covers, producing over 20 in total. He also wrote and illustrated best-selling children’s books for Rizzoli Publishing.
