Arnie Levin puzzles capture the sharp humor and distinctive style of a New Yorker cartoonist with a beatnik-era sensibility. Born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn, Levin served in the Marines before pursuing painting in New York City’s late-1950s art scene. His career took a turn at Push Pin Studio, where Milton Glaser spotted his talent and connected him with Electra Studio, known for innovative trailers and commercials. In 1974, he was recruited to The New Yorker by art director Lee Lorenz, launching a decades-long run of witty, unforgettable work.
