Sunday Afternoon On The Island Of La Grande Jatte

Traditional Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle

In Seurat's desire for mathematically exact order, he developed a painting technique called Pointillism. The entire canvas, in this style, is covered with minute dots of paint. He believed that when viewing the painting, the eye would mix the colors for an interesting effect. Seurat's intellectual approach was not followed for long, but it resulted in this work of art that makes an extraordinary puzzle. The profiled figures seem frozen and immobile, with light and heat shimmering around them.

Crafted in our Vermont workshop, each wooden jigsaw puzzle is meticulously hand-cut by a highly skilled Stave artisan to be a luxury, heirloom-quality puzzle. No computers or lasers. They are often crafted with an irregular edge that will vary depending on the puzzle's size.
