Inspired by the final play of the French playwright, Molière, artist Scott Gustafson turns the comedic-ballet The Imaginary Invalid into a whimsical art piece. The hypochondriac lion in The Imaginary Invalid wooden jigsaw puzzle looks awfully worried as it lays in bed, bundled up in pajamas and covered with blankets. Fortunately, it has two caring characters to look after it – a crow and an owl who are both dressed in très chic 18th century outfits, complete with wigs! It’s clear that these two are doing everything they can to get this lion back on its feet, offering bottles of medicine as part of their plan for a speedy recovery. Let’s hope that with their help the lion will find health and happiness soon!
