It was exactly what a wooden puzzle should be, difficult, fun, and a work of art!!
I received my Bad Hare Day puzzle on Monday last and gave it to my wife for a surprise gift. It was gift wrapped way better than anything I could ever muster so that in itself put a big smile on her face. She likes the regular kind of jigsaw puzzles but I wasn't sure how she would react to the Stave style twists and tricks. When I saw her take the pieces out of the box, she was intrigued. She took a seat next to me on the couch, and sorted out the pieces onto the reverse side of an empty puzzle top box. As she slowly assembled the puzzle I knew that the hard part would be the putting those middle pieces into place. My heart sunk when I thought there'd be no way anyone could figure out how to put those crazy edged pieces together. The next evening, she was still working on the puzzle. I thought she was just working on it so I wouldn't feel bad that I gave her such a crazy gift. I was about to tell her that it was ok to put the puzzle down and try again another time. But she did seem to be getting some enjoyment out of the challenge so I let her be. Then, the following evening, Wednesday, I had totally forgotten that she had spent most of the previous two evenings quietly sitting next to me just pushing the pieces around when I heard an amazing sound. "Got it," she said. I'm thinking, "Got what? Certainly not milk!" I looked at the puzzle and it was all done. For the next couple of minutes I looked at the puzzle and her in amazement and uttered about a dozen "WOW's!!!" Later, she was curious to know what other kinds of puzzles there were. I showed her the catalog. I suppose another order will be coming your way shortly.
Love it! Love it! Love it! Tougher than it looks. It is so adorable!
