A Look Back at Summer and a Look Toward Fall

A Look Back at Summer and a Look Toward Fall

It’s hard to believe, but it’s true; we’re enjoying the last few weeks of summer. Where did it go?! Vermont’s days have been filled with plentiful rain and not enough sunshine.
The weather made it hard to get the lawn mowed, much to my husband’s frustration, and the dog had days where he poked his head out the door and turned right back around!

Thankfully, we managed to find a decent afternoon for our employee picnic. We enjoyed some yummy food, played games, panned for sapphires, laughed a lot, and recognized two employee anniversaries. We celebrated Dianna’s 35 years of cutting puzzles at Stave and Megan’s 15 years. We are so lucky to have them! I know you’ve enjoyed the many puzzles they have crafted for you over the years and are looking forward to many more.

Alexis has shared exciting news that she and her partner, Chris, are expecting a baby early next year! Unfortunately, just when we were getting excited about the arrival of a new shop baby, Alexis broke our hearts and told us that she and Chris had made the tough decision to move back home to Virginia. As a grandmother, I fully understand their desire
to be closer to family, but we are sorry to lose Alexis and disappointed we won’t have the opportunity to snuggle that baby. We’re counting on lots of pictures!

While it’s sad to see the end of summer fast approaching, we are excited about what the fall season will bring. Our Stave artists have been very busy working on new puzzle designs for you and they’re going to be great!

Dianna and Megan

You’ve already seen Susan Greenleaf’s new Tidbit, Some Like It Hot. Don’t you love that little extra puzzlement we worked into the design with the sun’s rays? It’s so cool! Susan is also working on another new Tidbit that has a little extra puzzling element to it, and several other new puzzle designs. We’ll be introducing Christina’s newest puzzle, Diamond In The Ruff, soon. I won’t give away anything more than the title, but I know you’ll love it! Megan has had dinosaurs on the brain lately, so keep an eye out for her newest puzzle later this year. I worked the prototype design and darned if I didn’t fall for her tricks. I bet I spent 15 minutes searching for a Triceratops that simply wasn’t to be found! Stave artist, Molly Delaney, just dropped off the first version of her new fall-themed Touzzle puzzle and she is completing the final art for her newest Teaser puzzle. If you liked Awesome Blossom, you’re going to love this new challenge. It just might have you yelling Olé! and reaching for your castanets!

And if that’s not enough for you, we’ve also have two new Tormentors coming your way soon!

There’s lots of great stuff to look forward to!

Jennifer runs the company with Paula and is proud to keep Steve's legacy of puzzle torment alive. Jennifer has been with Stave since 1987, making her Stave's most seasoned crafter! She told Steve many, many years ago that she didn't want his job, but today she is rocking it! Jennifer is a tried-and-true puzzlenut. Jennifer enjoys crosswords, sudoku, and word puzzles in addition to the Stave puzzles she has crafted for her family. She also enjoys a good mystery book like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. Have you read them? Jennifer also loves a good concert; she hopes to see Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Adele, and Bruno Mars someday!
