In case you missed it, we decided to dig back into our corporate vault and dust off the copy of the CBS Sunday Morning piece that was done about us a while back. To be honest, we think it’s terrific. It shows a great behind-the-scenes look at all the devious tricks we have up our sleeves as well as an exclusive peek inside Staveland. So pop some popcorn, sit back and enjoy!
OK, I have a new ‘toy’, a new macro lens for my Canon camera. This is a super-duper macro lens, one I have been drooling over for years. This morning I was looking for puzzles to ‘shoot’ and discovered 2 presidential puzzles sitting side-by-side. So out came my new macro(close-up lens). Note that the top photo of “Presidential Times” already includes Pres. Obama. And notice the White House silhouette crafted into Eisenhower’s chest in “Grand Old Gang”.
OK, so maybe I'm dreaming… but I really do want Spring to be in the air to help 'stave' off Cabin Fever. The days are getting longer and brighter, right?. But tonight a 4"-6" snow storm is forecast…. ARGH. And we still have a solid foot of snow left on the ground. So to brighten my spirits I selected parts of spring-related puzzles we have been crafting. Just looking at these wonderful 'springy' corners does lift my spirits… how about yours?
Last September Martha and I stayed at the wonderful Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino, BC, on Vancouver Island on the Pacific. WOW! what a beautiful locale and Relais & Chateau hotel… well worth the trip. We suggested to the partner/GM Charles McDiarmid that his inn would be the perfect place for Stave puzzles during stormy weekends…. this inn is famous for its Storm Watching weekends… some of the most spectacular storms hit this area in the winter. After he had a beautiful puzzle table made our Stave puzzles were up and running at the inn, receiving much praise from the guests. Look at the upper right-hand part of this photo and notice how close the water is to the hotel (the Wick is safely perched high up on the rocks.)
